  • Olive wood comes from Bethlehem – co-operative workshops.
  • Ceramics come from Hebron.
  • Hand made embroidered items come from village cooperatives and sometimes refugee camps.
  • Silver jewellery comes from Christian jewellers in Jerusalem and in Bethlehem.
  • Mother of Pearl jewellery from Bethlehem.
  • Felt crafts come from L’Arche in Bethlehem.
  • Hand made cards come from Al Basma Special Rehabilitation Centre in Bethlehem (“Al Basma” is Arabic for “smile”).
  • Olive Oil, Medjoul dates and almonds from Zaytoun – Jericho.
  • Sand cards from Oasis.

The theme of this year’s calendar is “The Lost and Living Heritage of Palestine”

For Palestinians the term “heritage” is held dear, the memories of homes and villages, churches, mosques, special feasts and festivals, food, Dabka dancing, poetry, family occasions and of course precious olive groves. For many the memory of these family-owned olive uprooted, burnt, made inaccessible by Israeli forces – is unbearable.

The proceeds of the sale of this calendar will help to alleviate some suffering by way of donations to MAP, EMBRACE, HIRN, and other Palestinian charities as well as give much needed HOPE.
